This is how it goes
Applying for project support from Leader Stockholmsbygd means support and coaching from start to final reporting. We want to give you the best possible conditions to implement your ideas!
NOTE! that we operate exclusively in six archipelago municipalities, Norrtälje, Österåker, Vaxholm, Värmdö, Haninge, and Nynäshamn.
From idea to project
A project is a process in several steps. To begin with, there must be a development idea, something that can be refined and summarized into a concrete project, and a formal project application must be written. Thereafter, the project, if approved, should be implemented according to the conditions and regulations that exist. Finally, the project should be completed and reported.
Step 1
Get started
All leader projects should benefit more than those who apply for support and implement the project. To create sustainable results and positive change, a good start is to discuss and anchor the idea locally. Is the target group involved in the planning? Talk to more people about your project idea!
Consider how you can include activities so that the project creates ripple effects. Are the right competencies included in the project group? How does the project contribute to sustainable results?

Step 2
Contact us!
We currently have a high demand for applications and our resources for counseling are limited. This means that:
- preliminary contact is essentially mandatory and should occur at least 4 weeks before the final application deadline
- we will have a dialogue with you about the project idea, inform you about the requirements and conditions for our support, schedule a meeting for in-depth dialogue and counseling, and discuss your drafts so that you can finalize a complete application.
- we cannot guarantee that everyone who submits an application will be included in the next decision meeting. The board holds 4 decision meetings per year, and during high application pressure, applications may be addressed at a later time.
- only complete and assessable applications proceed to the LAG board's decision meeting and review
- applications are prioritized based on how well they meet the basic conditions and selection criteria.
- The final decision is made by the Swedish Board of Agriculture, which currently can take about 4-6 months after the LAG board's decision on prioritization.
Step 3
Application
Writing the application includes, in addition to a project plan, also developing a budget that holds. Think through what activities are required to achieve your set goals and what costs are included in each activity.
You write the application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service after contacting the leader office which – see step 2 above – provides support and advice in the process of developing a relevant setup. Then it is our board that decides whether you will be granted support or not.
Step 4
Implement and report
After the board's decision, it is the Swedish Board of Agriculture that makes the formal authority decision. While waiting for that, you can start the project. There are some rules to follow and the leader office is available as support throughout the implementation. We will also invite ongoing projects to meetings for experience exchange and inspiration.
When all activities are completed, it is time to submit the final report. How did it go? Your lessons and results are interesting to many!
