Bakery & catering

Fru Jennys Hantverk och Skafferi AB is located in Sorunda in Nynäshamn municipality. The demand for locally produced food and experience-based services is high and now the business will expand.

About the project

The goal of the project is to expand the bakery by 50 square meters to; get more space for storage, larger ovens, and to have the opportunity to hold cake and baking courses. In the long term, the hope is also to be able to have more employees. The expanded business will contribute to local development through an increased range of services, collaborations between entrepreneurs, and more job opportunities for those living in the area. Local carpenters, plumbers, and electricians will be hired for the construction.

By involving local farmers and growers, locally sourced raw materials, such as flour, meat products, and milk will be used in production. Contacts with farmers and local actors around Sorunda, members of the associations Mat på Södertörn and Växtkraft på landsbygden are already established. Collaborations between entrepreneurs in the area will promote both production and demand for local food and drink.

The board's motivation
Leader Stockholmsbygd chooses to prioritize the project as it strengthens the local food sector and increases the supply of commercial services through increased access to local food products based on local raw materials, something that primary producers benefit from, and contributes to sustainable entrepreneurship within Leader Stockholmsbygd.

The project is awaiting a final decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
