Tent and rest area Ingmarsö

Ingmarsö will get a rest and tent area to welcome more visitors who hike on the new Stockholm Archipelago Trail. A place for rest but also meetings with residents and visitors. A place that strengthens the tourism industry based on local conditions and needs.

About the project

The new tent and rest area will become part of the infrastructure for outdoor life on Ingmarsö.

The site will be established at the Stockholm Archipelago Trails rest area, at Norrgården. The hope is that the project will also increase acceptance for increased visitor pressure among the island's residents.

When the existing infrastructure for hiking is complemented with a tent area, the service level at the site is raised and contributes to making the archipelago accessible to more. The new tent area with access to toilet, shower, and trash bins will reduce littering on the island and thus also the friction between visitors and residents.

The project's target group is visitors interested in outdoor life, both national and international tourists. The site will also benefit the local businesses on the island, such as bakery, restaurant, shop, and ultimately the Ingmarsö residents themselves.
